Back Pressure Regulators

Back Pressure Regulators are designed to control upstream (P1) pressure by relieving all pressure above a set pressure from the process being controlled. The Burling Valve regulators can be configured to control the pressure of various gases and liquids accurately and repeatably. Ranging in sizes from 1/2" up to 6" flange mount, the Burling Valve pressure reducing regulators are available with dome-loaded, spring-loaded or mechanically piloted version.

By using back pressure trim instead of standard trim, a dome-loaded back pressure regulator is created.

Replacing the standard trim with back pressure trim, produces the simplest direct acting back pressure regulator.


Positive Differential Back Pressure

By using a positive bias on the the compressed spring with back pressure trim, produces a positive differential back pressure regulator.


Negative Differential Back Pressure

Similarly, by utilizing the spring in a negative or tension mode along with back pressure trim creates a negative differential back pressure regulator.
